A flood on August 30, 2020 caused major damage in the Garnitzenklamm. Paths were buried and misplaced. Jetties and bridges washed away. The gorge is not accessible for a long time. Elaborate clean-up work is necessary.

Unfortunately no good news... Bridge 1 couldn't withstand the pressure of the water masses and collapsed today... our volunteers had thousands of guardian angels...

Not enough bad news: After bridge 2, above the Idawarte, a large rockfall occurred. This makes the clean-up work in the Garnitzenklamm much longer and more complex.

We work diligently every day to be able to reopen the gorge for our guests in July. The mountain rescue and the Bergwacht supported us in making the gorge accessible for our guests.

Several flights were necessary to collect material for the renovation of bridges 5 and 7 to bring into the gorge. As well as the substructure for the new bridge 1.

Two large laminated beams, each weighing 3 tons, were flown into the gorge with Austria's largest cargo helicopter and connected directly to the substructure there.

On July 3, 2021 the Garnitzenklamm was reopened to visitors.
The new bridge 1 was inaugurated at the Klammfest on July 10, 2021.
